Each Yamaha SILENT Piano is conceived, designed and built from the ground up, fashioned by Yamaha master craftsmen in the same factory using the same time-honored, traditional methods as acoustic pianos.

Pure, natural sound

Three proprietary technologies work together to emulate the natural feeling and sound of an acoustic piano in your headphones. Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) recreates the resonance of the strings, soundboard and case. An advanced binaural sampling method simulates the sound you hear when sitting at the piano. Smooth Release Technology models the subtle interactions of the piano strings with the damper.

An advanced non-contact Articulation Sensor System continuously measures the movement, timing, depth and force of every key attack and release to faithfully capture and reproduce the subtle nuances of your performance.

Soft close fall board
P22 features a soft-closing mechanism in the fallboard.

Top board lock
The additional lock for top board prevents children from opening it accidently.

Top support-tone escape
Tone escape is achieved by raising the top board with a supporting prop.

P22 specially designed double caster helps to change the position of a piano smoothly.

The finest woods

P Series soundboards and ribs are crafted from solid spruce that has been hand selected at the Kitami Mill in Hokkaido, Japan, giving these pianos a richer, more resonant voice and evenly balanced timbre across the entire keyboard.

Advanced V-Pro frame
