TRANSACOUSTIC FEATURES

The soundboard is your amplifier
When a hammer strikes a string, all elements of the acoustic piano resonate together to amplify the unique sound of the instrument. TransAcoustic Technology uses these acoustic elements to bring digital sounds to life, allowing you to adjust the volume and experience the piano in a whole new way.

Let there be light transducers
Transacoustic's state-of-the-art, ultra-light transducer turns digital sounds into vibrations and applies them directly to the soundboard. All without sacrificing the remarkable acoustic tone you’ve come to expect from a Yamaha piano.

Every nuance, every note
An advanced non-contact Articulation Sensor System continuously measures the movement, timing, depth and force of every key attack and release to faithfully capture and reproduce the subtle nuances of your performance.

Pure, natural sound
Three proprietary technologies work together to emulate the natural feeling and sound of an acoustic piano in your headphones. Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) recreates the resonance of the strings, soundboard and case. An advanced binaural sampling method simulates the sound you hear when sitting at the piano. Smooth Release Technology models the subtle interactions of the piano strings with the damper.

Find your voice
The world-renowned Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grands are two of many digital voices available in your headphones including electric pianos, harpsichords, organs, strings, choir and synth pad.

Plays well with others
It’s easy to connect TransAcoustic with your audio and MIDI devices for recording, live sound or broadcast and it works seamlessly with computers, mixing boards and Bluetooth®-enabled devices.

FEATURES
The player's piano
CX pianos have been redesigned with many of the innovations of the flagship CFX to give artists a more versatile tonal palette while still maintaining the bright, percussive sound that has helped make C series pianos the most recorded in history.
A soundboard above
The soundboard of the CX takes its cues from the flagship CFX. The finest spruce from the Kitami Mill in Hokkaido, Japan is delicately shaped by Yamaha craftsmen to create the iconic CX series sound.
A powerful foundation
Like the flagship CFX, the back posts of the CX are crafted from the finest spruce and made thicker and more substantial to support the most powerful fortissimo.
Advanced V-Pro frame
Yamaha was the first company to use an advanced Vacuum Shield Mold casting technology called V-Pro to create a stronger, lighter, more durable frame worthy of the grandest grand piano. Every CX frame is built to exacting specifications at the Iwata Forge in Japan.
A more refined hammer
Yamaha took everything learned from the flagship CFX and reinvented the hammers to create the iconic sound of the CX with even more range of tonal colors and nuance.
Specially crafted bass strings
Yamaha artisans wind each bass string to work in harmony with the hammers, soundboard and every part of this exceptional instrument.
Superier voicing and regulation
CX pianos are expertly voiced and regulated by master technicians in Kakegawa, Japan to express every nuance.
