Equipped with Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) Lite, a digital technology that realistically reproduces the complex resonance produced by the strings of a grand piano, changing each time according to how the keys are pressed. Enjoy the sound of a concert grand that’s played and loved by renowned pianists, along with its infinitely realistic resonance. Of course, the P-225 doesn’t require tuning.

With a design that pays homage to the classic aesthetic of a grand piano, the P-225 blends well with the interior of any home, and is intended to offer the player the true feeling of playing a grand.

Songs
The P-225 comes with 71 preset songs, including 21 demo songs that are appropriate for each Voice, such as grand piano, electric piano, various organs, harpsichords including Jazz Organ, E.Clavichord, Vibraphone and so forth. We encourage you to listen to these demo songs, which cover a variety of genres from light classical to baroque masterpieces, R&B, pop music and more, to get an idea of how the P-225 opens up possibilities for your musical expression.

Practice with headphones—whenever you want, as much as you want
One of the greatest advantages of a digital piano is the ability to practice through headphones. You'll be able to play as loud as long as you like without disturbing family members or neighbors.

If you're wanting to listen to your playing objectively, or to practice with one hand what you normally perform with the other, recording function is just the thing you need.

Use the metronome to ramp up your rhythm skills

If you get tired of playing alone, rhythm accompaniment is available in genres such as rock, pop, jazz, and bossa nova. This is a fun way to learn genre-specific rhythms.

Play music from the instrument’s speakers via Bluetooth® audio
The P-225 features built-in Bluetooth audio, which lets you pair with your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet so you can play along with favorite music through the instrument’s speakers. An external adapter is not required.

Sound Boost brings out the sound of the piano
Have you ever been in a session with a band and felt that your sound was being overpowered by the other instruments? Worry no more—the P-225 is equipped with a Sound Boost function that switches to a punchy and powerful sound for such situations.

Use this feature to enhance the instrument's sound as you play and record using Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app or via Rec’n Share.

The Stereophonic Optimizer
When using headphones, the Stereophonic Optimizer lets players enjoy the dispersed sound heard when sitting in front of an acoustic piano. With the Stereophonic Optimizer, Voices sampled from acoustic pianos appear to come from the body of the instrument. This provides a comfortable, natural experience that removes the drawbacks of performing with headphones.

Button-style interface that makes it easy for anyone to use
The P-225 uses physical buttons rather than a touch panel, making it easy for anyone to operate the most essential functions. Aside from piano sounds, we have carefully selected only the most frequently used sounds, including keyboard instrument sounds like electric piano, and harpsichord, as well as strings.

Two-way speaker system delivers expansive sound
The position and angle of the speakers on both the front and back of the P-225 were adjusted to reproduce the sounds reflected from the soundboard and lid of an acoustic grand piano as closely as possible. This placement offers the player a comfortable sonic environment when the P-225 is placed against a wall.

A tone escapement has also been installed on this instrument to make the sound clearer and more readily heard, bringing the best acoustic balance to the player.

Practice with 303 free pieces of classical sheet music
The Smart Pianist app mentioned above comes with PDF scores of 303 classical pieces for practice such as Bayer, Burgmüller, Czerny, Hanon and more, which you are free to display and use on the screen of your smart device.

In addition to the speakers that offer sharp and clear mid- to high-range tones and prominent low-end for a well-balanced sound, the P-225’s speakers feature tweeters for a richer high-end tone.

Dedicated optional stand and three-pedal unit available for a more authentic performance experience
For those who want to really play the piano instead of enjoying it casually on a tabletop, we offer an optional L-200 stand and LP-1 three-pedal unit that provide the same features as you would find on a grand piano (including a damper pedal that supports half-pedaling).

Using the stand provides stability, proper height, and correct posture when you play, and adding the sustain pedal lets you enjoy a more authentic style of performing.

As a sustain pedal, we offer the FC3A, which supports half-pedaling.
